- Musician and muralist/set designer for the yearly poetry event “WORD, SOUND, POWER” at Brooklyn Academy of Music. (2015-2019)

- Musician, sound designer, and co-creator of multi-media performance “The Spinning Wheel” written by Baba Israel. “The Spinning Wheel” was awarded the Fireworks Residency by BRIC Arts Media in Brooklyn (Jan 2016), which included 4 performances and the curation of a 3000 square foot gallery inspired by the show. The show has completed 2 tours of the UK in London (The Roundhouse), Manchester (Contact), Birmingham (MAC), and Bradford (Theatre in the Mill). It was also presented by SPKRBOX Hip Hop theatre festival in Oslo, Norway. (2013-2017)

- Completed two tours with American Music Abroad & The U.S. State Dept. in 2018 to Peru, and in 2016 to Russia, Indonesia, Taiwan, & Mauritius as a cultural ambassador with Soul Inscribed. The band performed large outdoor shows for 2000+ crowds, nightclub venues, master classes for university students, and educational assemblies youth groups over the 5 week trip. Live painting and large collaborative murals were completed at several events in 3 of the countries visited. (2016- 2018)

- Selected as beatmaker and graffiti artist for the Next Level team Tanzania run by UNC- Chapel Hill & The U.S. State Dept. Next Level is a 3 week Hip Hop Cultural Exchange intensive with local artists that culminates in a live performance for the community. (2015)

- Toured as beatmaker, beatboxer, and multi-instrumentalist with Baba Israel and Soul Inscribed throughout the U.S., Mexico (Cumbre Tajin Festival), Australia (Big Day Out Festival), New Zealand (One Love Festival), Czech Republic (Hip Hop Kemp), Germany, England, and Holland (Lowlands Festival). (2000-present)

- Performing multi-instrumentalist for Playback NYC; an improvisational Hip-hop theater group that does community based performing in hospitals, prisons, schools and other communities. Traveled in 2007 to Sao Paolo Brazil’s International Playback Theater Conference and London’s World Work Conference to perform. (2001-present)

- US State Dept. Tour, The Gambia, West Africa. Selected to act as Cultural Envoy on a 12 day Hip Hop cultural exchange tour with the US Embassy. Led workshops, recording sessions and performances throughout the capital city Banjul. (2010)

- Founding member and event producer/coordinator for Open Thought Productions, a presenter of socially and politically engaged performance and visual arts specializing in educational programming. (2002-2019)

- Co-Founded independent record label Subphonik Music Group. Co-producer, graphic designer, and player of instruments on Open Thought’s album “Force of Life” (2003), Baba Israel + Yako 440 “Beatbox Dub Poetics” (2006), soul singer Duv “Urban Artistik” (2008), Baba Israel + Yako 440 “Highest Degree EP” (2012), and Soul Inscribed “Soul Inscribed” (2016).


- Presented workshops in music production (using portable laptop studio) and digital visual arts (using iPad app ProCreate) in hospitals, youth centers, and NYU Langone Center’s Initiative for Women with Disabilities through the organization ArtWorks, Englewood NJ. (2013-present)

- Co-created Hip Hop theater shows with 75 6th graders performing their own poetry, music, dance, and using their original graffiti art as background projections. These projects are annual 2 week residencies at Bardavon Theater, Poughkeepsie NY (in it’s 11th year) and 1 week residencies Mahaiwe Theater, Great Barrington MA (in it’s 6th year). (2005-2019)

- University of Istanbul, Turkey. Presented introductory Hip Hop workshops for University students. Over 5 days participants studied Hip Hop history, beatmaking, DJing, human beatboxing, rapping, and recorded a song. (2010)

- Led workshops in graffiti art, music production, live band, & percussion for public elementary, middle, high school students and adult learners through the following arts organizations: Urban Word, Purelements, The NYC LGBT Center, Urban Arts Partnership, The Door Community Center, Champions Club, Safari East, and JCCA. (2000-present)

- Teaching artist and assembly leader with Arts Horizons (NJ based arts organization). Executed music production, beatboxing, and percussion workshops as well as professional development programs for teachers. Co-created two assembly programs Hip Hop Connections and Sonic Boom: The Remix, which tour the Tri-State Area. (2002-present)



- Graduate of Goddard College’s Master of Fine Arts program for Interdisciplinary Arts, Plainfield VT. (2009)

- Completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Goddard College, Plainfield VT. (2003)

- Attended Berklee College of Music, Boston MA. Studied music theory, sound engineering, arranging, and private bass lessons with Whit Browne (known for his work with Oscar Peterson, Dizzy Gillespie, Zoot Sims.) (1998-1999)

Mixed Movement at Contact, Manchester, England. Performed music with Baba Israel for improvised dance pieces on this open stage event. (August)

John Jay College/ Urban Word, Manhattan, NY. 4 week summer program called Poets For Justice co- taught with MC K-Swift. High school students and a college age mentor created poems and songs inspired by social justice themes. Pieces were recorded and turned into a CD with a release party at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe. (August)

PS 101, Spanish Harlem, NYC. Let graffiti art and human beatbox workshops with 7th and 8th grade students.

Mixed Movement, NYC. Assisted Dawn Crandell and Baba Israel in creating this “open stage” for dancers to improvise with live musicians in front of an audience.

Bardavon Hip Hop Theater Youth Project in Poughkeepsie, NY. 100 middle schoolers created an original Hip Hop theater piece over the course of 2 weeks. (March)

Australian Tour/ Hip Hop Dub Sessions, Sydney, OZ. Traveled to the southern hemisphere with Baba Israel to perform and do sessions at “The Bunker” studios with local musos. (December)

Hip Hop Kemp, Prague, Czech Republic. Performed at Europe’s largest all Hip Hop festival (30,000+ people) with Baba Israel. Yako 440 also judged the Czech Beatbox Battle. (August 23-24)

Subphonik Forces EU Tour, England, Holland, Germany. Subphonik Music (label co-founded by Yako 440, Baba Israel & Core Rhythm) teamed up with Australia based label Invisible Forces (Morganics) to put this multi-city tour together. (July)

The Door Community Center, NYC. Taught youth ages 14-21 how to develop musical ideas and produce beats using computer software programs Reason, Ableton Live, and Pro Tools. (2001-2003)
